Bee Facts:
Worker Bees:
A typical beehive has over 60,000 female worker bees. Every worker bee has a specific job to do based on their age. On average worker bees live about 2 to 3 months or until they sting something.
Drone Bees (male bees):
There are usually between 100 and 200 drones in a hive. They live about 1 to 2 months and they don't work. All they do is help the queen reproduce. Drones do not have stingers.
Queen Bees:
There is only one queen per hive. She is the largest bee. She typically lives between 2 and 4 years and is the only honey bee that can sting repeatedly. She can lay up to 3,000 eggs per day.
